Internet Safety & Content Filtering Summary (CIPA Compliance)

 

Our organization maintains an internet content filtering solution designed to meet the core requirements of the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) by restricting access to inappropriate and malicious internet content while allowing legitimate educational and business use.

Content Categories Blocked

The following categories are actively blocked:

Threat Protection

The web filter also blocks known security threats including:

•             Malware Sites

•             Phishing Sites

•             Botnets

•             Spyware & Adware

•             Spam Sources

This helps protect users and devices from malicious websites and cyber threats.

 

URL-Based Filtering

In addition to category filtering, specific websites and domains are explicitly blocked, including:

•             Roblox

•             AnyDesk (remote access software)

•             Various known DNS servers and IP addresses associated with blocked services

 

Allowed Websites

Specific websites are exempted from filtering where required for educational, healthcare, business, software management, or operational purposes, including:

•             Microsoft Windows Update

•             Google services

•             Pediatric Partners

•             ITSupport247 remote management services

•             Webroot security services

•             Amazon AWS/CloudFront services

•             Payroll and HR platforms

•             Other approved business applications required for daily operations

 

Policy Purpose

The filtering policy is designed to:

•             Prevent access to obscene or harmful material.

•             Protect users from malware, phishing, and other cyber threats.

•             Restrict access to websites that present security, legal, or productivity risks.

•             Allow access only to approved business and educational resources when exceptions are necessary.

 

CIPA Alignment

The implemented filtering controls address the primary technical requirements of CIPA by:

•             Blocking visual depictions that are obscene or harmful to minors.

•             Preventing access to child sexual abuse material.

•             Restricting access to inappropriate internet content.

•             Protecting users from malicious and unsafe websites through threat filtering.
