January is National Mentoring Month, a time to celebrate the incredible individuals who inspire, guide, and empower young minds. At the Fuller Center, mentors play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of our children, and we’re proud to spotlight the diverse and dedicated leaders who make our mission possible. This year, we honor six extraordinary mentors whose talents and passion leave an indelible mark on our students and community.
(Starting from the top going clockwise)
Ms. Suzy Karen
An occupational therapist specializing in pediatrics, Ms. Suzy Karen found the Fuller Center on Facebook after moving to Florida. Since joining us over a year ago, she has become a favorite among our East Campus afterschool kids, bringing her expertise and warm energy to every interaction. Her dedication earned her the Primetime Outstanding Community Supporter Award in 2024. Through her weekly mentorship, Ms. Suzy fosters creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression, helping our children grow academically and emotionally.
Lisa Talley
As our Associate Director for Community Engagement, Lisa Talley exemplifies leadership and commitment. A community advocate, Lisa has tirelessly worked to ensure our kids receive the highest quality care. Her energy and passion uplift our children, families, and staff, making her an irreplaceable part of the Fuller Center team. Her influence extends beyond her role, serving as a beacon of support and inspiration in everything she does.
Loverly Sheridan
Founder of Buddy Ambassadors, Loverly Sheridan is a powerful voice for kindness, empathy, and inclusion. Her anti-bullying workshops and programs have transformed schools across Palm Beach County, instilling compassion and understanding in students and workplaces alike. Through her work with the Fuller Center, she empowers our children and both campuses to embrace a culture of respect and care, fostering a brighter future for all.
Dr. Stephanie Bryan
Dr. Stephanie Bryan, a college professor and mentor at our East Campus, combines her passion for fitness, mental health, and social connection to inspire our children. She leads workshops on exercise, mental health, and social media awareness, teaching students the importance of balance and wellness. By sharing her book, New Day for Thank You, Dr. Bryan emphasizes gratitude and the power of interpersonal relationships, nurturing the hearts and minds of every child she mentors.
FAU Medical Students
We are fortunate to partner with a group of medical students from Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt School of Medicine. These future healthcare leaders mentor our children on medical topics, sparking curiosity and introducing them to the wonders of science and health. Their dedication to education and mentorship inspires our students to dream big and explore the possibilities within STEM fields.
Ms. Phyllis
With her theatrical flair and Chicago roots, Ms. Phyllis has brought the magic of theater to the Fuller Center. Her productions transport our children to worlds of make-believe and wonder, enriching their imaginations and confidence. Through her passion for the arts, Ms. Phyllis has helped our kids discover the joy of creativity and the transformative power of storytelling at both our campuses.
Thank You to Our Mentors
These extraordinary mentors embody the spirit of the Fuller Center, demonstrating that mentorship is about more than guidance—it’s about creating lasting relationships, fostering resilience, and igniting potential. We are deeply grateful for their contributions and the lasting impact they have on our children’s lives.
This National Mentoring Month, we celebrate Ms. Suzy, Lisa, Loverly, Dr. Stephanie, the FAU medical students, Ms. Phyllis and the many other mentors at our center. Together, they all represent the heart of our mission: empowering children to thrive, dream, and succeed.
