Strengthening Leadership to Enhance Community Impact

Boca Raton, Fla. Feb. 6, 2025 – Fuller Center is pleased to announce the appointment of four distinguished professionals to its Board of Directors: Clara Acero, Douglas Heizer, Monica Mayotte, and Barbara Vega. Each new board member brings invaluable expertise and passion for community service, further strengthening Fuller Center’s mission to provide high-quality education, family support, and resources to children and families in need.
Clara Acero is a dynamic community leader and advocate, known for her deep commitment to philanthropy and social impact. She currently serves as the Executive Director at Kingdom Charitable Trust and was recently honored with the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award from Palm Beach State College (PBSC). As an active member of various nonprofit and faith-based initiatives, Clara has dedicated her career to empowering individuals and organizations to reach their fullest potential. Her experience in leadership, mentorship, and community engagement will be a tremendous asset to the Fuller Center.
Douglas Heizer, a highly respected entrepreneur and media professional, is the publisher of the Boca Raton Tribune and a passionate advocate for the South Florida community. Recognized internationally for his contributions, Douglas was recently awarded the prestigious Orden do Rio Branco by Brazil’s President for his outstanding service in strengthening cultural and business ties. Additionally, he served as the 2023-2024 District Governor for Rotary International District 6930, further demonstrating his dedication to leadership and community development. His background in media and public relations will help expand Fuller Center’s outreach and advocacy efforts.
Monica Mayotte served as the Deputy Mayor, Chair of the Community Redevelopment Agency, and a City Councilmember for Boca Raton from April 2018 to April 2024. Dedicated to public service, Monica has been instrumental in shaping policy and ensuring residents’ concerns are addressed. Her leadership in promoting Boca Raton as a premier destination for living, working, and learning makes her an invaluable addition to the Fuller Center Board.
Barbara Vega has over 20 years of experience in business and nonprofit development. As the Lead Philanthropic Advisor at Food For The Poor, she has played a key role in securing transformational gifts and fostering relationships that drive impactful change. Barbara’s expertise in strategic philanthropy and institutional giving aligns seamlessly with Fuller Center’s vision of eradicating poverty through sustainable solutions.
