Fuller Center Sets the Standard in Kindergarten Readiness as New State Data is Released

Setting the Standard for Early Learning Success in Florida

The latest 2024–2025 Kindergarten Readiness Report from the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Business Alliance for Early Learning has just been released, and the numbers tell a powerful story. While Florida continues to face challenges with early childhood education—only 43% of kindergarteners statewide were considered ready to start school this fall—Fuller Center is proudly exceeding expectations with a 100% kindergarten readiness rate for our Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) graduates.

These new findings serve as both a wake-up call and an inspiration. They show that the state’s average lags far behind the Florida 2030 Blueprint goal of 100% readiness. Even in Palm Beach County, where coordinated investments have pushed readiness above the state average to 45%, the Fuller Center stands out as a model of what’s possible when families receive comprehensive support and children are given access to high-quality early learning.

Highlights from the 2024–2025 Kindergarten Readiness Report

  • Only 43% of Florida’s kindergarteners entered school with the foundational skills they need to succeed.
  • 75% of children who start behind never catch up, impacting long-term educational and workforce outcomes.
  • Counties with stronger early learning investments—like Palm Beach—show measurable progress, proving targeted efforts work.
  • Children who complete VPK are significantly more likely to be kindergarten ready, yet access and quality remain uneven statewide.
  • Poverty remains a critical factor, with readiness rates dropping sharply in high-poverty areas—unless strong programs intervene.

Fuller Center: A Proven Solution

The Fuller Center’s commitment to high-quality education, wraparound family services, and early intervention has produced exceptional results. With 100% of our VPK graduates kindergarten ready, we are not only meeting but exceeding the state’s vision for the future. Our approach proves that when children have access to quality early learning and family support, they thrive—no matter the odds.

We are proud to be part of the solution that drives systemic change in early childhood education. The new report emphasizes that to close gaps and reach the goal of 100% readiness by 2030, Florida must replicate successful models like ours across the state.
