Neighbors, generosity, and friendly competition come together for a great cause
It was an evening of excitement, camaraderie, and community impact as friends and supporters gathered on Thursday October 9th for the 3rd Annual Charity Poker Tournament benefiting Fuller Center. With 40 players filling the tables, the friendly competition grew fierce before narrowing down to the final three: Kelley Baum, Baldemar Mejia, and Brian Yano.
As the night wore on, the trio made a gentleman’s agreement to split the winnings and trophies — with Baldemar ultimately taking the overall title. In a beautiful show of generosity, all three finalists chose to donate their winnings back to the Fuller Center, ensuring that every hand played helped support local children and families.
Thanks to the incredible support of our hosts Rob and Hiromi Printz and Rob and Tracy Louv, and our generous sponsors — Athena Equity Partners, III Capital Management, Morgan Stanley – The Harbor Financial Group, and Red Oak Partners, LLC — this year’s tournament surpassed its fundraising goal of $40,000.
The evening was not only a celebration of friendly competition but also of community spirit and compassion — a testament to what happens when neighbors come together for a cause that matters.
On behalf of the 600+ families and 1,100 children Fuller Center serves annually, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who played, cheered, and contributed to making this a winning night for all.
